STATEMENT

I see my artistic practice as research on visual mechanisms to use on the development of the next generation monuments that will influence the collective memory of the future. I’m interesting on what monuments represent, what part of our present do we want to keep for future collective memory and also what materials should we use in the conception of monuments. My artistic works have a political and social character and are related to contemporary issues such as the control through bureaucracy over the last migratory movements in Europe, the missing representation through monuments of certain social spheres and the current environmental problematic of global warming. I use different media such as photography, drawing, painting, sculpture and narrative texts. I like to combine classic materials such as paper, carbon, acrylic with materials typical of the Anthropocene Era rests such as plastics, cellophane, silicone, nylon, street posters, nail lacquer or rubber.

We asked ...

What role do unrealized projects play in your artistic practice?

How do you record your ideas for new works and projects?
What makes unrealized projects and works special to you?
The projects that I have not yet done or that I know I will never do are very important and especially in my artistic practice, because they allow me to think and imagine with absolute freedom without limits of budget, space or physical possibilities. These ideas, sometimes completely utopian, I often write or draw them in an artist book or write them on my cell phone.
