ABOUT

“Heathers”:

- a highschool killer comedy worth watching

- a term for the ultimate supporting actress in a horror movie

- a queer-feminist art project by Veronika Burger, Nora Jacobs and Nicole Sabella

- a ...

Since 2013 the queer-feminist performance group „Heathers“ has been investigating the role of female characters in horror movies, the creation of uncanny atmospheres as well as the process of translation.

STATEMENT

„Who’ll be their next victim… – You?“

We asked ...

What role do unrealized projects play in your artistic practice?
It’s time to howl again.

How do you record your ideas for new works and projects?
Back by popular demand.

What makes unrealized projects and works special to you?
First they greet you then they eat you.

How has the situation of the last months changed your artistic work?
First Austrian horror comedy.
Don’t forget to put out the cat… before the cat puts out YOU. (Sometimes dead is better.)

How do your unrealized works and projects differ from your realized ones?
Where there imagination, there is darkness and from within that darkness lurks a being of unfathomable terror… close to home.

Who do you tell about ideas for new works?
Heather #1 and Heather#2 or Heather#3

How does an idea become art?
Raise some hell. (Heather#1) Every girl has her secrets. (Heather#3)

How does it feel for you as an artist not to be able to realize an artwork?
Eat… Drink… and be buried.

Do you think there are artworks that should better never be realized?
Every bloodline must end.
          Why?
She knows a sucker when she sees one.

What does failure mean for your artistic work?

There is no darkness. Just reunion.

What do the terms 'possible' and 'impossible' mean in the context of your artistic practice?
Don’t think it. Don’t say it. Don’t think it. Don’t say it. Don’t think it. Don’t say it. Don’t think it. Don’t say it. Don’t think it. Don’t say it. Don’t think it. Don’t say it.
